Southwest Jiaotong University is an engineering university in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, with a focus on rail transport. Railway engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, transportation planning, electrical engineering, vehicle engineering and materials science are its established fields.
International students are admitted to English-taught master and doctoral programs in civil engineering, transportation, electrical engineering and management, and to Chinese-taught degrees after language preparation. The Xipu campus in the northwest of Chengdu hosts most teaching and research, and the university's long-standing ties to China's railway sector support project work with infrastructure operators.
