Beijing Language and Culture University is a Beijing university that exists primarily to teach Chinese to international students and to train teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. It runs Chinese language courses at every level from beginner to advanced, alongside degree programs in Chinese language, translation, international business and Chinese culture.
Most international students begin with an intensive Chinese language course, with new intakes in September and March, and can then move into Chinese-taught undergraduate or postgraduate degrees. The campus in Haidian District is compact, with dormitories, classrooms and canteens on site, and students come from more than one hundred countries, which makes the campus unusually international.
