University of Science and Technology Beijing is an engineering university in Beijing with a background in metallurgy and materials. Materials science, metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, computer science, energy and environmental engineering are its established fields.
English-taught programs are available at master and doctoral level in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering and computer science, and undergraduate teaching is mainly in Chinese with language preparation available. The campus in Haidian District is close to Beijing's university cluster and to the city's technology districts, and the university's metallurgy and materials laboratories are among its largest facilities.
