About Lanzhou University
Lanzhou University is a comprehensive university in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, serving northwest China. Chemistry, ecology, grassland science, geography, atmospheric science, physics and history are its established strengths, and its location gives it particular research access to the Loess Plateau, the Tibetan Plateau margins and arid regions.
International students are taught mainly through English-taught master and doctoral programs in ecology, chemistry and environmental science, and through Chinese-taught degrees after language study. The main campus in Chengguan District sits beside the Yellow River, and living costs in Lanzhou are markedly lower than in coastal cities. The city is a rail hub for travel to western China.
