MRes Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems

Program Overview

The research-intensive MRes Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems at XJTLU develops advanced skills in artificial intelligence research, including pattern recognition, computer vision, machine intelligence and intelligent systems. The 24-month, English-taught program covers advanced pattern recognition, deep learning in computer vision, image and video processing, and reinforcement learning, followed by a one-year research project. Graduates earn a University of Liverpool degree recognised by China’s Ministry of Education.

Curriculum

The Large Scale Models Pathway includes Spoken Language Processing, Natural Language Processing, Advanced Pattern Recognition, Reinforcement Learning and the MRes Project. The Vision Processing Pathway includes Image and Video Processing, Deep Learning in Computer Vision, Advanced Pattern Recognition, Reinforcement Learning and the MRes Project. Both pathways include MRes Project Preparation and a two-semester MRes Dissertation Project.
